I wish I had gone with the Smoke hand guard at a custom length. The two nut clamp on the Faxon just gets in the way of a mag well grip, but it's just nitpicking. Handguard was as heavy as the stock barrel nut, so i removed like 11 ozs from the front of the gun. Stock is very adjustable and feels great against the shoulder. I initially had issues with the stock "shortening" as i shot, but once i torqued the screw down further, that fixed the issue.Apr 24, 2020 · Install the gas block (and gas tube), then slide the forend over the nut, ensure the two top rails are aligned, then tighten down the six handguard bolts into the barrel nut. Nov 11, 2022 · I ended up ordering a custom length 7" hand guard from Smoke and the Riflespeed RS7533 per their recommendation. Smoke Composites has an off the shelf 7.25" which "might" work but it'd be tight trying to get fingers in there to adjust the gas with a suppressor on. Everything arrived and I began to put it together. .
